Clear Aligners in Pflugerville, TX

Clear aligners straighten teeth with a series of removable, nearly invisible plastic trays, each worn for one to two weeks. At Radiant Dentistry ATX in Pflugerville, Dr. Richa Wahi scans your teeth, shows you the planned result before you commit, and checks progress every six to eight weeks. Most mild to moderate cases finish in six to eighteen months.

Clear aligner treatment commonly ranges from $3,000 to $6,000 in the Austin area depending on complexity; PPO plans with an orthodontic benefit often contribute. Monthly financing available. Insurance & financing.

How clear aligners work

Instead of brackets and wires, clear aligners move teeth with a sequence of thin, custom-made plastic trays. Each tray is shaped a fraction of a millimetre closer to the final position; you wear it for one to two weeks, then move to the next. Because the trays are removable, you eat, brush and floss as normal, and most people never notice you are wearing them. The American Dental Association’s overview of orthodontic treatment covers how aligners compare with braces.

Who they are for

Aligners are a good fit for adults and teenagers with crowding, gaps, mild overbite or underbite, and teeth that have shifted since braces years ago. They are not the right tool for every case: severely rotated teeth, large bite discrepancies and jaw problems are usually better treated with braces, and Dr. Wahi will say so at the consultation rather than start a case that will not finish well. Gum disease and untreated decay are sorted out first, because moving teeth in an unhealthy mouth causes damage.

The process, step by step

  1. Consultation and scan. A digital scan of your teeth replaces the old impressions. Photos and an X-ray complete the record.
  2. Preview. Within a week or two you see a simulation of the planned movement and the expected result, along with the number of trays and the cost. Nothing is ordered until you are happy with it.
  3. Fitting. Small tooth-coloured attachments are bonded to a few teeth to give the trays grip. You leave with your first several trays.
  4. Check-ins every six to eight weeks to confirm the teeth are tracking, with the next trays handed over each time.
  5. Refinement and retainers. Minor adjustments at the end are common. A clear night-time retainer then holds the result.

Living with aligners

Trays come out to eat and drink anything other than water, and go back in after brushing. That 20 to 22 hours a day of wear is the one rule that decides whether the case finishes on time. Clean the trays with a soft brush and cool water, never hot. Whitening works well during treatment, since the trays can double as whitening trays, so many patients combine the two and finish with a straighter, brighter smile at once.

Cost and insurance

Clear aligner treatment commonly ranges from $3,000 to $6,000 in the Austin area, with limited cases that move only the front teeth at the lower end. PPO plans with an orthodontic benefit typically pay a lifetime maximum toward it, which we confirm before you commit, and monthly financing spreads the balance over the length of treatment. The quote includes the scan, every tray, the check-ins and the retainers.

FAQ

Clear Aligners: your questions answered

  • Invisalign is one brand of clear aligner. Several systems work the same way, with a series of trays made from a digital scan of your teeth. At your consultation Dr. Wahi explains which system suits your case and exactly what it costs.

  • Mild crowding or spacing often finishes in six to nine months; moderate cases take twelve to eighteen. Wearing the trays 20 to 22 hours a day is what keeps you on schedule.

  • Each new tray feels tight for a day or two, which is the teeth moving. It is pressure rather than pain, and over-the-counter relief is rarely needed after the first week.

  • Aligners handle crowding, gaps, mild overbite and teeth that have shifted after braces well. Severe bite problems, heavily rotated teeth or jaw discrepancies usually need braces with an orthodontist, and Dr. Wahi will tell you honestly if that is the better route.

  • Commonly $3,000 to $6,000 in the Austin area, with shorter, simpler cases at the lower end. Many PPO plans with an orthodontic benefit pay a lifetime amount toward it, and monthly financing spreads the rest.

  • Yes. Teeth drift back without one. A clear retainer worn at night keeps the result, and it is included in the plan we quote.
